The night Jesus was born, the heavenly angels song, ',Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:14.
The Luke story of the Christmas angels doesn't use the word sing or sang. However, it is logical to assume that when a message of such significance is to be delivered, it would be rendered in song or at least choral speech. After all, the Old Testament Book of Psalms is filled with songs written by King David. Personal opinion: I believe the Angels SANG the night Jesus was born!
Since that night we have had very little political or military peace in the world.
Did the angels sing the wrong song? Why did they sing about peace if there was to be no lasting peace in the world?
Answer: The peace the angels sang about is peace with God. Romans 5:1
In the beginning, God made us for fellowship and worship.
However, sin broke that relationship and when the angels sang the first carol, man was not at peace with God.
* So, Jesus was born to be the ultimate sin sacrifice for the whole world and this would make it possible for true peace to exist between God and man
* The angels did sing the right song.
The angels sang the right song for another reason. Peace with God will bring political and military peace, also.
* What would happen if everyone in Ireland would be at peace with God through Jesus Christ? Or, if all the inhabitants in Israel and the Arab countries were at peace with God?
