How can I tell the good Muslims from the bad?

When you listen to Dr. John Hagee speak about the evil intent of some Muslims and readers of the Koran, you may wonder if this applies to all Muslims you may meet in your everyday lives. In other words, are all Muslims ipso facto terrorists on a jihad?

Listen to the Koran at sura 9:5: "Fight and slay the pagans [Christians and Jews] where you find them, and seize them; beleaguer them in every strategy of war."

There is a two-part answer to this question.

Part one: The Holy Bible has internal validity.  What it says in one place is in harmony with what it says as a whole. 

Part two: The Koran does not have the internal validity of the Bible. Mohammed's life must be studied in two phases. The relatively passive years in Mecca and the violent years in Medina.

Therefore, he may be quoted as saying one thing in Mecca and something entirely different in Medina.

Muslims are like Christians in that they don’t practice what their bible teaches.  Thank God they don’t, or all Muslims would be out killing Christians and Jews wherever they find them.  Just as there are nominal [in name only] Christians, there are nominal Muslims. Oh, yes, they may pray five times a day, read the Koran, and attend Mosque regularly. But, otherwise, they are regular citizens.

The Muslims you need to worry about are the fundamentalist ones that are on a literal jihad to kill Christians and Jews where they find them.  When it comes to this kind of Muslims, you need to be on what Homeland Security calls a heightened alert, even if it means being accused of racial profiling.  Former US Secretary of Transportation Norman Manetta was wrong. This kind of racial profiling is justified.  Not all profiling is wrong just because his family was wrongly interred in a Japanese camp in the early 1940’s, after the Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.  That was then; this is now!
