All typewriters in 1961 typed non-proportionally at 10 or 12 characters per inch. The expensive and high-end IBM Executive could type proportionally but such a machine would not be used to type child-specific data on blank COLBs. The IBM Executive was found in such places as the White House and large-company CEO offices.
